If a person dies in the present day, friends/family have to update their facebook/social networks to reflect that. When everyone dies in this scenario there's nobody left to make such an update. In this situation it's the robots owned by corporations, so anyone with the authority to make such changes probably died, hence why the ones wandering the wasteland are usually nicer than the ones still guarding buildings.

I think that sort of planning would count as treasonous. Keep in mind that suggesting that you might lose during a decade long war of this sort can be taken the wrong way, even if you're just trying to plan for the worst. The stables were meant to preserve/fix ponies for a chance at a better future, but a "switch off in event of apocalypse" program has little to do with preserving life. That said, the robots that ended up going berserk and killing everyone nearby were more a result of rushed technological advancement without consideration for safety, and were the war not a priority would likely have been fixed before being made public.

Because they are machines... They follow their instructions. Would the timer of your Smartphone work if your dead?

This image reminds me of a story I once heard. Humanity has grown to a population of over 15 billion and has expanded to multiple colonies outside of earth. Earth itself has been turned into one massive cityscape, as it houses most of Humanity. Its all powered by one Antimatter reactor near the core of the Earth.

One day this reactor melts down. Engineers try to stop it but fail. Humanity desperately tries to escape, swarming to spaceships waiting to evacuate. The reactors explosion incinerates everything, not a single ship makes it out. It even takes a large chunk out of the earth. With earth gone the colonies fall into anarchy, eventually being wiped out.

All thats left of humanity is a single robot on earth. It wanders the empty city streets, tending to the corpses needs. Not realizing, or not accepting the fact that humanity is gone. Its unkown what the robots fate will be. All thats left is the assumption that it continues doing this forever. Atleast until the day it falls apart.

Yeah. I should write that idea down somewhere. Go into a lot greater detail and publish it. Might earn a buck, I dunno. Add a few teenagers and a love triangle and I might get a movie out of it.

try to explain that his master will not drink that coffe. Ever.

I'm afraid that might just increase his level of sadness.

Bradbury's book was somewhat inspired by the poem,
It tells the story of an automated house attempting to care for a family who,
unbeknownst to it, have all died in a nuclear war.
